The Department's Vision and Mission Statements are as follows:

VISION STATEMENT:
We are committed to the highest ideals of effective financial service delivery and maintaining office standard and consistent improvement in our responsibility in line with the National Youth Service objectives of the scheme

MISSION STATEMENT:
Providing administrative standard and the best financial management services possible to the scheme and its public in a timely, efficient and honest manner

DEPARTMENTAL DIVISIONS AND UNITS:
The Finance and Administrative Department has three Units:
 Account Unit
 Administration Unit
 Human Resources Unit
 Procurement Unit

ROLES OF DIVISIONS AND UNITS
The roles played by the Units in this department are as follows:

Advising Management on financial matters
Preparing Annual Budgets of the Scheme
Managing of funds accruing to the Scheme
Establish and maintain internal control systems
Establishing accounting systems with appropriate built in control as approved by the Ministry of Finance.
Keeping proper records in line with Financial Regulations and guidelines.
Establish financial and administrative polices
Advising the Scheme on Legislative, regulatory and treasury requirements.
Runs the day to day operations 
Provide supports to all other departments
Advise on staff recruitment
Draft all procurement documents 
Negotiate all contracts in the interest of NYS and ensure that contract agreement meet procurement procedures and standards. 


SERVICES PROVIDED
Services rendered by this Department include:

Payment of allowances to Corps members through bank accounts
Payment to suppliers
Disburse fund for the quarterly monitoring
Disburse fund for all NYS approved activities
Payment of allowances on approvals to staff 
Disburse fund for the overall operations of NYS
Payment of Contractors’ bills and Consultants fees
